What defines intelligence?
Has it got to do with scoring straight A's in any examinations?
Or maybe someone who has achieved very good academic excellence?
The weird thing about intelligence is that its too smart too be defined soo badly.Perhaps the use of words like smart and intelligent are not so smart after all.Why are we forcing our youths to sit and painstakingly go trough their books day and night to score A's in their exams? Its not going to make them smarter!Anyone can get an A in a subject.Thats the truth. The Malays get it easier than us in Malaysian Public Examinations. So,does that mean that they are smarter than us?NO!
All those...okay fine, most of them who scored many A's in their exams are those who are willing to put in a whole load of effort and are just hardworking. This applies mostly to non-bumiputra's.We all know the bumiputra's in Malaysia get it easier in everything including academic marking scheme's.No disrespect to some of them who are actually hardworking.
My question to the Malaysian government is.....Whats the point?
We can definitely make a million more doctors, lawyers, engineers or teachers but what we really need are scientists and intelligent individuals who are going to make the necessary changes. For instance, to lead our research and development. Why is RnD an integral part of a countries development? The answer is simple...trough scientific breakthroughs,we could monopoly a certain economy and this would indirectly give us more power in that certain field that would eventually make us a much more recognisable nation. This is how we should be known for and not for the some monument we build or some stupid tunnel which serves dual purpose.Other importance's of such individuals are the leadership that they can offer to us could make a whole oad of a difference.

Alright, some may argue we all know this but cant do a thing.YOUR WRONG!
Why not for beginners we start accepting the fact that intelligence could be in anyone amongst us?
The simple truth that we are all afraid of is to admit that intelligence has no boundaries and could be inherited by anyone.Yes,anyone! Why is it so scary?Just imagine your Indonesian maid being much more intelligent than everyone in your family?Doesnt it make you feel insecure?
That's why we keep dodging this fact and also beacause the matter is very subjective. The nearest we will get to really know one's level of intelligence is an IQ test.Till date, the Malaysian Education Ministry have been very reluctant to either directly include a subject which tests this or maybe create an additional paper which would give us a clearer indication of who is a better candidate for a place in a university. Not to say that what we have now is bad,the current education system is good but just not good enough. The implementation of such tests is a necessity and also students should be allowed to pick their subjects as soon as they enter into secondary school in accordance to their choice of ambition. This is a very good way to reduce the rate of unemployment in the country especially in times when a major economical downturn is expected. There is no particular need to have so many lawyers when what we actually need are more varieties to help out in various fields, maybe more geologist in the country would be helpful?
Whatever the argument is,Malaysians have to stop moaning or whining and start waking up to the reality that says all's not fine.Any system in the world would need constant modifying or in other terms, reformation and revolutions for a better future and maybe now is the right time for us to
REVAMP THE MALAYSIAN EDUCATION SYSTEM.
