A beautiful soul

Today is a birthday of someone very special to me,someone that crossed path in my life with me at a very important time of my life and truth be told,my life could have gone any other way if not for this person.

Her name is Sheila Jacintha Edwin and she was my Additional Mathematics teacher back when I was in Form 4 and Form 5.When she first thought me in class in Form 4,I was a rude, naughty and ill disciplined student. There was once she was teaching that she told me to concentrate and I answered back that I can learn all this in tuition.I was that rude.Just as how my behaviour was,my results were just the same.I scored 9 out of 100 for my Form 4 mid-terms.I remember it very well coz I was proud of it,it was the number at the back of Louis Saha's jersey at that time.Lol.

Anyways, time passed and somewhere in the middle of Form 5, she started teaching private tuition to a few students and I decided to join, I dont know why but I thought a smaller class could help me with my Additional Mathematics. She thought us so well, that I mastered the subject in a few short months. Not only that, she even tutored us for Modern Mathematics, and was a very loving and helpful teacher.

At certain age of a young adults life, when you need proper guidance, she was there. She was more of a friend, that we hanged out with and a dear teacher which we respected dearly. She even started teaching me Chemistry at a certain point and motivated through some tough times in my Form 5 especially when I was being victimized by most teachers for all the disciplinary problems I had earlier.

In life, you may meet many people, but very few would go out of their way to help you.She did.I told her once:
a ordinary teacher teaches,
a good teacher explains,
a better teacher demonstrates
but a great teacher motivates.

She was and still is an inspiration to me and many other students.

Today is her birthday and though she shifted to Australia few years back and I have not met her for the past 6years, she has never been far in my thoughts. She has and will always be close to heart as she is a great soul,a wonderful kind hearted lady,a great teacher, a good friend and someone that I thank god for making me meet.

Happy birthday teacher.Regardless of whether you will be reading this or not, somehow somewhere I hope you know that this student of yours is doing well in life and will go on to do well,on your guidance and blessings.I wish you a happy happy happy and a wonderful year ahead and all of your hearts wishes come true and god bless you at all times.May HE blesses you and family with prosperity, good luck, health and wealth.

Sincerely yours,
your rascal student

Read this and you will know on how to love someone truly...

Rest in peace...but for who?

Saw this picture on 9gag earlier and got me thinking, why do we care so much for celebrities that barely affect out lives? Most people are fooled by marketing and branding tricks that make artistes and celebrities seem much more important to us than real life heroes like Lt.Michael Murphy of the US Navy Seal who gave his life for his squad, such heroic actions are easy to be praised but difficult to comprehend. While most of us are even afraid to lose a small thing for the sake of others, here we have a guy who gave his whole life, his everything for the safety and security of others.Such heroes deserve more than a rip post on any website or a tweet, they  need our true respect and monuments are justified.

Thousands die everyday but you dont see anyone saying anything to them, but the moment an artiste or Steve Jobs died, everyone felt sad. What the fuck?

Who the fuck was Steve Jobs other than a creative mind who used it for bussiness purpose, he is no different than any other sales man trying to sell us things.Yes he had a great idea, but is it really worth the millions of praises he gets? It bamboozles me how societies thinking is controlled by media propaganda and yet knowing, most people just dont care.

Real heroes deserve respect and our hats of in silence for their courage and bravery. We better know that and let our childrens tommorow know of their sacrifices today.

A joke to make your day.Cheers!

The Smiths were unable to conceive children and decided to use a surrogate father to start their family. On the day the surrogate father was to arrive, Mr. Smith kissed his wife and said, "I'm off. The man should be here soon" Half an hour later, just by chance a door-to-door baby photographer rang the doorbell, hoping to make a sale.

"Good morning, madam. I've come to...."
"Oh, no need to explain. I've been expecting you," Mrs. Smith cut in.
"Really?" the photographer asked. "Well, good. I've made a speciality of babies"
"That's what my husband and I had hoped. Please come in and have a seat"

After a moment, she asked, blushing, "Well, where do we start?"
"Leave everything to me. I usually try two in the bathtub, one on the couch and perhaps a couple on the bed. Sometimes the living room floor is fun too; you can really spread out!"
"Bathtub, living room floor? No wonder it didn't work for Harry and me"

"Well, madam, none of us can guarantee a good one every time. But, if we try several different positions and I shoot from six or seven different angles, I'm sure you'll be pleased with the results"
"My, that's a lot of....." gasped Mrs. Smith.
"Madam, in my line of work, a man must take his time. I'd love to be in and out in five minutes, but you'd be disappointed with that, I'm sure"
"Don't I know it," Mrs. Smith said quietly.

The photographer opened his briefcase and pulled out a portfolio of his baby pictures.
"This was done on the top of a bus in downtown London"
"Oh my God!" Mrs. Smith exclaimed, tugging at her handkerchief.
"And these twins turned out exceptionally well, when you consider their mother was so difficult to work with"
"She was difficult?" asked Mrs. Smith.
"Yes, I'm afraid so. I finally had to take her to Hyde Park to get the job done right. People were crowding around four and five deep, pushing to get a good look"

"Four and five deep?" asked Mrs. Smith, eyes widened in amazement.
"Yes," the photographer said, "And for more than three hours too. The mother was constantly squealing and yelling. I could hardly concentrate.
Then darkness approached and I began to rush my shots. Finally, when the squirrels began nibbling on my equipment, I just packed it all in."

Mrs. Smith leaned forward. "You mean squirrels actually chewed on your, um......equipment?"
"That's right. Well, madam, if you're ready, I'll set up my tripod so we  can get to work."
"Tripod?????"
"Oh yes, I have to use a tripod to rest my Canon on. It's much too big for me to hold for very long.

Madam? Madam? ....... Good Lord, she's fainted!!"

10 Things That You Probably Didn't Know About Qatar

1.Qatar has the fastest growing economy in the world, with a rate of 19.40% pear year.

2.Qatar has the highest average income per year in the world. On average, a Qatari earns about 80 000USD pear year.

3.There are more foreign workers and expatriates in Qatar then local Qatari's themselves.Total population of Qatar right now is 1.8 million with only 300 000 locals Qatari's.

4.Fridays are family days, you cant enter most malls unless if there is a female present.

5.The flag of Qatar was actually red in color, not maroon. There was a mix up that happened during the print out of the first flag, and a decision to use the maroon instead was taken.

6.Despite being a former colony of Britain, they drive on the right hand side of the lane, according to the American system.

7.Summer in Qatar could see temperatures rise to a phenomenal figure of around 55 Degrees Celsius.Half the amount temperature of boiling water.

8.Qatar practices Shayriah laws which include certain punishments such as stoning to death, till today.

9.Everything in Qatar is tax free. Beside a small import duty, there is no tax for anything in the country.

10.Despite being such a rich country, most of the people here are arrogant snobbish Arab motherfuckers who are so full of themselves that they think that they can treat other people like shit. The country is a very conservative country with backward ways.If there was no oil in this country, it will be just a fucking shitty desert with nothing in sight.

Day Out Doha

This is the Museum of Islamic Arts in Doha,Qatar.First thing I noticed was the beautiful Islamic architecture of the building. The beautiful landscape of modern day Doha skyscrapers and the scenic clear blue ocean around it gives it a complete paradise look.

Me and my 2 good friends, Afiq and Wan posing in front of the entrance.

One of the thousands of interesting artifacts in the Museum, a page of the Quran page from over 700 years ago...how it can survive time,I really wonder.

Coins from the past, with some as old as 900years old...amazing...collected from around Iran/Iraq.

This is an incense burner made in the shape of a lion, its as big as my palm and is also about 900years old...but there is one thing here that doesn't make sense here, does that look like a lion?

Me and my monkey friend from the past...hahaha,this is as an incense burner as well..in a shape of a monkey holding both its knees....hahaha,damn that monkey!

Thats Syura explaining something to Afiq (those 2 fight all the time..hahaha) while I look on. and erm, thats the lembu the bhai used to jaga from 800years ago...LOL

This is an interesting and a comical one.It depicts a picture from an ancient book of the human anatomy.
That "going to shit" pose drawn really cracked us up.

This was one of the coolest, this is the real life preserved helmet of Iranian soldiers in the past..the sharp tip on top of the helmet could kill a man on its own.Incredible stuff.

Us posing in front of a mock up soldier on a horse with all his equipment's and guards, its amazing how much of
steel wear they used to have on their body when they go to war..that itself would have made moving around hard and they would ride horses into battlefields.Real man, compared to the sissies we have thse days, complaining about the latest i-phone release.

This was the most incredible thing I saw that day.The real life sword of Indian Emperor,Shahjahan.
Enough said.

Me and syura looking at something really interesting.Well, more like me posing while she is really interested. Haha.

War mask worn by soldiers.Looks damn cool right?
Mask level: Like a Boss.

Jewellery from ancient times.Cool.

This is a typical women's robe from the past. The weird thing here is the robe is damn bloody big,
I mean 4of me could fit into one, were the women back then really that huge?

Beautiful view of the modern day Doha taken from across the bay.

Majestic view of the museum.

Hahahaha, this mid-air shot is priceless! :)

All in all, had a great time with this guys at the Museum and later on went over to Souq Waqif, where I finally had my sheesha. Was a really nice trip with wonderful people, many more of them coming I hope :)

Updates 9th Feb 2012

Its been exactly a month since the day we left Malaysia, loads of happened in this month.

Finally, feels like I have fully adjusted to life here...the weather, the food and life here in Doha...there's the good, the bad and the ugly.

The good: My job and job scope is purely engineering, so I get to learn alot and thats my number 1 prority. Also, I have a nice room-mate and most people around here are easy to get along with and helpful.Another one is that there are more Indians than Qataris here,so being able to converse in Hindi makes everything so much easier.Same goes to all those Indian,Nepali,Bangladeshi workers I have under me.Also, is the respect you get for being an engineer, pure job satisfaction.I am a Mechanical Engineer.

The bad: Weather. Many might think it will be super hott here in Doha but instead, its winter right now...some days it goes down to like 11/10celsius and those days,I freeze to death.Even this morning, it was really cold...messes up with your immune system, having sore throat almost all the time.Prices of things are higher here as everything sold here are imported.Qatar is a small country filled with rich people with loads of oil, so why would they even bother of having another industry.Another bad thing is that this land is flat, with only sands and stones, without grass or trees...its not pleasant to the eye at all.

The ugly:Arabic law and the Arabs here.Rude, arrogant and ignorant bastards.

Thats all updates so far...Im missing people back home alot, esp my brothers and ohh my cat...all my friends and the people I knew.Missing loads of nice Malaysian food and the Malaysian culture...Im getting more and more into work these days, really does take my mind off things...

Happy birthday Bob Marley :)

10

Thanks for the inspiration Bob.You have been someone that I look up highly in life even though I have never known you in person. You are not a celebrity nor a persona that has been glorified by the media to me that I am writing this today but a character that has defied the normal stigma of society, one whose rules of life and way of living that runs very parallel to me.The fact that you have had fame and money and yet remained how you were with your simple ways and the things you preached and more importantly, you did what you said.A man of your words.

More than your music was your wisdom in handling things and view of life which I believe has to be breeeded into every human being for a better tommorow. The way you thought to love and live in the simplest manner has shown to me that the branding marketing rubbish today is one that is unnecessary.True happiness doesnt come from an i-phone or from having brands or fame,it comes from just living your life.Simple ways,by smiling and by not fretting over things. You might have smoked erbs for most of your life but your thoughts are more wiser and nobler than almost everyone I have met in life.

Definitely someone I wished I had the chance to meet.
Happy birthday brother...Jah Rastafari.Loads of love.

10 things I hate about fake football fans

1.How they interprete popular football players as much better.

2.How they think a team that has won has played much better.

3.They rarely know what competition it is?

4.They would look at teams like Stoke City as small frys ,without knowing.

5.They dont know that the same games are played twice in a league, home and away.

6.The goalscorer always has a good game.

7.Screw the players that got a card without knowing why he was carded.

8.Any handball in a penalty area is a penalty.

9.How they always think the ref got it wrong.

10.How they talk about a game without knowing the tactical side of it.
