Just Donald Duck being banned..

Donald Duck comics were banned from Finland because he doesn't wear any pants.

La Zona Del Silencio

In a Chihuahuas desert patch near the Bolson de Mapimi in Mexico, there exists an eerie area called Mapimí Silent Zone (La Zona Del Silencio) or the Zone of Silence.

The area gets its name from an odd anomaly that prohibits radio waves from transmitting inside the zone. The Zone of Silence appears to cancel radio and TV signals and has a
 history of UFO sightings.

Its discovery was made in 1970, when a faulty American Athena missile fired from the White Sands Missile Base in nearby New Mexico went off course inexplicably and crashed into the mysterious desert region.A team of U.S. Air Force investigators were sent to locate and investigate the cause of crash with approval from theMexican government ,they journeyed to the crash site and made an unexpected discovery. Within an unspecified and sometimes shifting area within the Zone, radio signals fail to travel through the air, creating a type   of dark zone.

No television, radio, short wave, microwave, or satellite signals seem to penetrate this zone.

The name, Zone of Silence, was quickly adopted, and researchers began flocking to the remote location shortly thereafter.

Theorists are quick to point out that the Zone is geographically located just north of the Tropic of Cancer and shares the same  latitude south of the 30th parallel as the Bermuda Triangle and the Egyptian Pyramids.

Whether such theories are pure coincidence and the reported sightings of UFO are man made fiction, one thing is for sure,La Zona Del Silencio has some mysteries of its own.

Funny

Imagine you’re in charge of hiring the new ambassador from Pakistan to Saudi Arabia,
when you get an application from a professional, highly trustworthy and experienced applicant.

Akbar Zeb
Surely you would pick him,right?

But unfortunately, the name of the applicant in question is Akbar Zeb and the country is Saudi Arabia.

He has been the Pakistani ambassador to 3 countries before, but none of them has Arabic as their official language.
In Arabic, Akbar Zeb translates to ‘biggest dick’.

And thats how, Akbar Zeb didn't get the job....hahaha

One plain hill side with only green grass.Nothing else in sight.

Imagine sitting there, nobody in sight.Knowing you are all alone.
You look up and see a clear bright sky,a bright future.Yet you choose to look down.

Tired of wandering around, you keep walking.
Suddenly a tree comes in sight. You approach it.

You take a rest in its shade. You lean over it.
All of a sudden, you dont feel lonely.
That tree seems like a good company.

You sit there every day when you are tired.
That good ol tree gives support,is ever present.
You dont ask for more.
Let the plains be plain, let there be nobody.

You enjoy the shade, lay down around it
and suddenly you feel at home

One day,you lose touch of everything.
You lose it
Sun strikes hot,wind suffocates
You find for your tree, nobody else can help
At least thats how you think
Just want to rest under the shade, nothing more

Tree is not there, appears to be there
when things hit rock bottom
when someone feels lonely
the least would do
the very least of listening would do alot

few will read this
fewer will understand
and im really not sure whether anyone will bother

-sigh

100 Days

I heard time flies, but I never knew it flies at the speed of light...now how long does it take to reach 100days?
Apparently not 100 days, much lesser..the calendar tells me that Im not making sense but ohcmon, you're just a calendar...

Looking back,it was not so long ago when i was forced to live the living nightmares of camels,in this barren desert...filled with nothing but rich camels driving luxury cars and those arabs....oh wait..which is which, again?
I cant remember anymore...does animal dress in all covered black dresses with luxury cars or the arabs sit on all fours carrying travellers in the desert?

Orik. Now thats that weird cross between a goat and a deer with antennas on it...that silly animal that lives in this land.If you can make sense of how it looks like, try seeing the tail of a Qatar Airways plane. That silly animal. Not much differentiates animals from animals here.If you know what I mean. From what I heard that they get paid alot...wikipedia tells me the biggest resource of natural gas is found deep below this desert.I was impressed...how I wish they had found the reservoirs of good manners. That would come in handy.Maybe just maybe people will start liking you but Hey! Dont get over excited about this, there is still a big chance that those reservoirs will not come to any good use.

Zaman Jahilliah, thats in Malay. In English, its translated as the Age of Barbarians.History back in school thought me,that before religion prevailed in this land of sands stone deserts,it was the time of Jahiliah. They say it was an age of ignorance, where man indulged in their desires, doing what they want when they want and man was without guidance.Put money into the equation cancels the civilization brought in my religion, and man after money becomes exactly as how man was before religion. The example of civilization being undone has been quite obvious here.

The hundred days has been good for the body, all that waking up to work thing is paying some good cause to my body. But still a long way to undo all those damages done during college days.A few would understand this.
For someone with a faulty nose,it has been a good times here.Weather hasn't been that kind but the nose has not been much of a nuisance.Ahh,weather.Since the day I arrived, weather has been an issue. In the beginning of time here,it would drop to below 10 or 9celsius.Those were some fuckin cold days.Understand that others have seen worse but for someone who has 0.0000001 almost negligble body fat, surviving the cold itself feels like victory. The weather has since subsided to more of a Malaysian weather,in the past month or so.Thats good. The bad is that, summer is just starting.Embrace yourselfs, 55degrees celsius of average temperature can toast even the rowdiest camels. And I look forward in seeing the ladies here in their summer dresses,I wonder how different it would be from the black curtains they wear now.

Work has been the best part of the 100days.Now when you realize you have just said that, you would also realize how lifeless you have been. But,what the heck. The future is bright and I earn good notes. The hard work comes with loads of patience.Bear Grylls once said in a place where everything is constantly ever changing, being adaptive is man's most important skill.I am holding on to that advice.Being adaptive and putting effort.Newton was right too.For every force being applied, there is a force of equal magnitude in the opposite direction. For the time I have been applying force here day in day out,I have received equal amount of respect and been acknowledged.Thats what I call job satisfaction.

Friends and peers has been aplenty.Speaking 4languages does help make friends in almost all directions. Most people have been kind especially Malaysians.Unity beyond our races, its been 1Malaysia over here in Doha.Had some pretty good times and many-many more to come.

Life has been different,100 days has shown what really matters in life, who really matters and why they do.Being far away from the storm gives me the clear picture of the storm, being far away from my life,it gives me the clear picture of what I have left behind.Family, good friends, good times and a beautiful country.

Beautiful..

She is beautiful, there is no doubt to it..
Those eyes that melts hearts, when she passes, heads turn too ,
The stars and the moon stand witness of her beauty,
the beautiful roses and jealous peacocks stare in jealousy..
Beautiful is she such..

beyond that skin,
is a inner beauty, unseen to most,
that heart that is filled with care and love,
for her loved ones and close along knows,
kindness roots from within, beautiful kindness I must say

most dont see beyond her beautiful eyes,
but those eyes tell a story,
of a soul who has gone through alot, yet carves a smile all the time
for she is strong, even when those around her are weak,
she is a more than a girl, she is a women in her peak,
she is beautiful from the inside, for her heart and her soul is as beautiful as she is

I know I have not seen in person, all I know her is from words,
but does all that even matter?
her words are enough,
words that mirror her soul...and once again,
a beautiful soul I must say...

Sometimes I feel its true what they say:

“The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart.” – Helen Keller

This was what the calendar on my office desk said about April 19th
Happy Birthday :)

On my 5th Birthday,it was a little gay song from a quite gay boy band,gosh..this bitrhday would have sucked:

On my 9th Birthday,it was everyone's favourite dance number:

Hey Macarena-Los Del Rio

On my 11th birthday,Armageddon's main theme song sang by a rock legend,Steven Tyler with:

On my last birthday-

Moves Like Jagger by Maroon 5 featuring Christina Aguilera

And on the day I was born, the Number 1 song in the US Billboard Charts was:

RMS Titanic-100 years

Today marks the 100th anniversary of the sinking of titanic...RMS Titanic was on its maiden voyage from Southampton,England to New York when it hit an iceberg at about 11.40pm,where six of the water tight compartments broke causing water to enter the ship....the rest as they say, is history and thanks to the movies (the old and the latest 3D one), we now know quite alot about the ship...well,actually not really.
All that Leonardo painting Kate Winslet nude didnt actually happen.Sorry to dissapoint.

Here is are some of the interesting facts...

1.Despite carrying 2223 people at the time of sinking,it only had enough life boats to save 1178 people.

2.Only 710 people survived.Women and childrens were given priority to be saved first.

3.However, most of the life boats weren't fully occupied went it left behind the sinking Titanic.More lives could have been saved if not for human arrogance and ignorance.

4.Despite that, J.Bruce Ismay, the chairman of White Star Line (the company that owned RMS Titanic) survived by getting into a lifeboat.Coward.

5.Captain Edward John Smith, who was the captain of the ship at that time, went down with his ship.Respect.

6.When the Titanic began sending out distress signals, the Californian, rather than the Carpathia, was the closest ship; yet the Californian did not respond until it was much too late to help. At 12:45 a.m. on April 15, 1912, crew members on the Californian saw mysterious lights in the sky (the distress flares sent up from the Titanic) and woke up their captain to tell him about it. Unfortunately, the captain issued no orders.

7. Two dogs out of the 9 on board of RMS Titanic were saved.Dogs.Really?

8. Fifty lucky bastards cancelled their ticket for the voyage due to various reasons.

9.This one is creepy,an American writer, Morgan Robertson, wrote a book The Wreck of Titan which predicted exactly what happened to the Titanic 14 years later.
Here is a link to the book:

10.If placed upright, the Titanic would have been taller than any of the buildings of her time.It was nicknamed The Unsinkable,The Wonder Ship,The Last Word in Luxury by many newspapers that the first news of its sinking wasn't believed by many.

Health and Safety Test

I failed a Health and Safety Course at work today..
One of the question was:

"In the event of fire, what steps would you take?"

"Big fucking ones" was apparently the wrong answer.

Happy Vaisakhi

Today is the eve of Vaisakhi and even though I am all alone in a foreign land, Vasakhi will still be celebrated.I heard there is a Gurdwara somewhere in an area of Sanaiya which is heavily populated with Sikhs.I do not know much about this place but I have some Sikh friends over here and am beyond joy happy that I am being able to celebrate Vaisakhi this year with my fellow Sikhs.

For those who dont know what Vasakhi is,here is a brief info.

Sikhism is a monotheistic religion founded during the 15th century in the Punjab region, by Guru Nanak Dev and continued to progress with ten successive Sikh gurus (the last teaching being the holy scripture Gurū Granth Sāhib Ji).It is the fifth-largest organized religion in the world, with over 30 million Sikhs and one of the most steadily growing.

Sikhs are expected to embody the qualities of a "Sant-Sipahie"—a saint-soldier.

One must have control over one's internal vices and be able to be constantly immersed in virtues clarified in the Guru Granth Sahib. A Sikh must also have the courage to defend the rights of all who are wrongfully oppressed or persecuted irrespective of religion, colour, caste or creed.

Vaisakhi is the celebration of the anniversary of the baptism of Sikhs into Khalsa, meaning pure by the tenth propher,Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji.The tenth Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh, standing outside a tent, called for a Sikh to sacrifice himself, on hearing this one Sikh volunteer presented himself before the Guru for sacrifice. Then the Guru took him to a tent a and came out with a blood stained sword that frightened the gathering. He then called for another volunteer four more times, and one-by-one, four others stepped forward for the calling of their guru. The same happened with the four. Later, the Guru used his Divine powers to bring the 5 back to life. The "5 Beloved Ones" were given a new life, they were reborn and were given a unique appearance and were called the Singh's.

All baptisted Sikh men have the surname Singh and women have the surname Kaur.

We Sikhs are the largest brotherhood of surnames existing in the world today and on this Vaisakhi, eventhough I will be away from my blood brothers, sister and family, I am a proud Sikh that will be happy to celebrate with my other Sikh brothers, sisters and bowing down to the Holy Granth Sahib.

Sariya nu Vaisakhi di lakh-lakh vadhaiya hove...

The point being is...

One thing that always makes me think is that if the textbooks are really meant to teach us,then why do they use BIG COMPLICATED WORDS to explain something so simple?

Its like me saying that the fundamentals of the law of conservation of energy needs that work done by the system on its surroundings to be replaced by a external source of heat to provide more internal energy where in simple terms,

it only means Im hungry.

Now,that,just made me hungry.

Be right back!

Apr 9, 2012

Oh wait...what?

Before the Petronas Twin Towers were the worlds tallest building and before the Malaysian F1 Grand Prix held the record for most half way stopped race because of rain, many people outside of Malaysia didn’t even know we existed let alone where Malaysia is on the world map.We Malaysians feel termendous amount of pride at just knowing that the outside world acknowledges us.right?

We were like "Oh Mr.White guy, have a look at us! We are that penis shaped country near Singapore!"
Oh let me guide you while you are visiting my country so that when you go back, you would remember how wonderful Malaysians are.

Anyways, times have changed and today, we are much better off…those days of having to explain "what is Malaysia?" are long behind us.Well there are still idiots(mostly Americans) who dont know, but it doesnt bother us as much anymore.

So to my story, the other day I was in the city and I had to take a taxi to get somewhere else in Doha and I was talking to the taxi driver, he was an african man, probably in his 50's...and I asked him, where are you from? He answered me Africa, and I smiled at him and asked, "where in Africa?" coz I thought my geography is good and I would definitely know his country.Gabon,Tunisia,Algeria,Zambia,Togo,Angola,Bostwana...you name it,i know it..

So he asked me back "Do you know all the countries in Africa?" and I answered "yeah"

And then he came up with this most weird exotic named country "Eritrea" and he smiled back asking "You know?".

I swear for a moment I felt like I was being trolled.

Embarassedly I admitted I didnt know. And in my head I was like,Fuck,he must be feeling like how we Malaysians have felt all along.I apologized for not knowing and asked him a bit more about his country. It seems Eritrea is this small state country near the north east of the African continent. Its located in the north east of Africa,in an area called the Horn of Africa. It is bordering,Sudan,Djibouti and Ethopia. The name of its capital is Asmara (haha...those who know Malay must be smiling) and it has a tiny population of only 6million people.

Here are some pics of people and places of Eritrea.
