Faith in humanity restored

They call him Bagel Jesus. He takes the old bagels from work and distributes them to the hungry on the street.Every single day after work.

"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the
tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children."

- Ezekiel 25:17.

What is happiness?

Ever heard of the phrase you can't find what you want to find unless you know what you're finding?

The purpose of life or the pursuit of happiness is that feeling of fulfillment when one feels accomplished of their desire.Take having something to eat for example. Its simple enough to  know you will accomplish what you want by having food.

Thats the easy part, knowing that you have to pursue the happiness.

The difficult part is what is happiness? It varies from person to person, blessed are those who's idea of happiness is simpler to achieve than those who have achieved most aspires the highest peak in the world, and is still unhappy.

Bottom line, life is like a fucking cycle.Sometimes up,sometimes down, and it goes on and on forever, till the wheel stops turning. If you dont know what makes you happy, the turns will always seem the same and life would seem like one long endless cycle of repetitive chores.

Being happy is equals to living life.Yes.Life isn't worth living if you're not happy,a second spent not being a happy is a second wasted (insert more cliche phrases about happiness and life here) but the bottom line is Quit the cycle of life, the cycle of waking up-do what you have to do in life-go to bed.Quit that.ENOUGH ALREADY!

Life has more than that.If you can't do the big things that make you happy, do the small things that makes you smile. We all know what those small things are and if you still can't figure it out, think back of what made you happy when you were 5,chances are you would have out grown them, but the real truth is that there is a lil kid in all of  us, and no matter how much you grow, there is some part of you that still holds on to some of the little things that makes you happy.

For me,is looking at ants walk up the wall. For some weird reason,it makes me happy to track them down,to where there are travelling, what they are up too.Really made me a happy kid, today I might earn enough $ to buy an ant farm and all but things just ain't the same.Go! Go do what makes you happy, even for a split second, life would seem all the worth living coz nothing else matters.

If you will excuse me now,I have some ants to attend to!

:-) Have a nice day!

The Rights of Power

Today, during one of our usual "whats wrong in Malaysia" session with a few friends, I came to realize a important thing, that most problems bewildering Malaysians today are not caused by the Goverment but by the people themselves. Of cause, that doesn't mean that the Barisan Nasional government are an example of excellent practice of the democracy but so isn't the Opposition. The point being, politics is dirty and all politicians are self centered, crazy for power individuals, who have the thought and actions that will lead to self benefit/profit.Whether it being from UMNO,KeADILan,PAS,PBRS,PPP or an independent candidate.

The difference is and will always be the Rakyat. The people and their actions mirror the sort of government that will rule, and the sort of treatment they will get. If the people of Malaysia, keep playing possum and agreeing for the sake of being friendly/Malaysian, any party that comes to power, will act just the same the way the current Barisan goverment has.The behaviour and response the people give, in long term, will affect the way they will be treated.Take into account how for the past 55 years, our fore-fathers and later our fathers generation has come about in terms of electing the goverment. There was never much fuss about why we should change. If it ain't broken, dont fix it-that was their motto. The mind set of our previous generation was deeply attached to the feeling of grattitude, that has been manipulated by the Barisan Nasional goverment.

For example, since the Malays make up to 62% of the Malaysians, the easiest way to garner votes from this section of the people would be via :-

 A) Ketuanan Melayu-Speak about their heritage, culture and rights for Malays to be in power and how "the others" are ruining the Ketuanan Melayu rights they have and how the Barisan goverment will MAKE SURE it is preserved.WALLA!BRILLIANT MANIPULATION TECHNIQUE I MUST SAY.

and

B)Emotional manipulation-With all due respect to the Malays, in my personal opinion, they are one of the most mild mannered, polite and humble people in the country, who's culture defines being humble, not greedy and grateful as highly admirable characteristics. It's not the being humble or being less greedy that Im concerned with here, but with the element of "having to be grateful".For the past 56 years, the Malays have been emotionally manipulated to BE GRATEFUL to the Goverment that has provided so much for them, and up till today, when the powers of the Barisan is fast waning, the slogan remains one that Emotionally manipulates-Janji Ditepati (Promised kept)-a subtle way of informing that the Goverment has DONE SO MUCH FOR THE PEOPLE,and its time for them to repay it with votes.

So?

You might be wondering, since for the past 55 years things were fine, and people were never unrest at such a heights as  they are right now, what happened suddenly?
(Kenapa tiba-tiba nak tukar Kerajaan pulak?)

The latest generation of Malaysians are generally mostly Tertiary level educated and have unlimited access to the free media, the internet-is what happened.Since it's obvious the only form of media that has been all this while in the country has been manipulated extremely to suit the best interest of the Barisan Nasional party and its goverment, previous generations never really knew where things went or were going wrong. This only undermines the importance of free press in any country.Anyway, back to the topic of the sudden uprise of young Malaysians demanding for a change, it has largely got to do with the internet and information that can be pertained from it adding up to the rising number of intellectuals in the country. These two are one of the few major signs of an  imminent, inevitable revolution that will soon sweep the nation.

Though the signs are good, let us not forget what is important here, for the future of our country, we Malaysians must have the mentality that sets us apart from our previous generations.Cukup kita ditipu (Enough times we have been fooled). We the young Malaysians are the future of the country and we have to have the ability to gather information, and more importantly rationalize whats the right information from the wrong, make our mind, stay affirm and demand practically from the future goverment for our rights, and never have the Tidak Apa (Its okay) attitude when it comes to serious matters such as human rights, education system, safety, law and many others. We have to stand firm and demand the future goverment to ensure their promises are fulfilled and if it isn't, we, THE RAKYAT OF MALAYSIA, will not hesitate to strip them of the power and give it to others, who can lead us to a better future.

In short, I will say, the power has to be in the people of the goverment and the only way to do that is to vote for a change, so that it will be a mark of proof, that if we Malaysians have decided, we can CHANGE the future of the country.

People shouldn't be afraid of the Goverment.Goverments should be afraid of the people.
The power is in the hands of the Rakyat.

“A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!”

Making Ringgit and Sense

Just a thought, the famous author Robert Kiyosaki once said, that knowing to differentiate Assets and Liability is more important than the knowledge of requiring Assets. Most of the working class today are in the hunt of better jobs with better pay, either subconsciously knowing or not that the expenditure of the income has more bearings on the outcome of their financial planning. In my opinion, the income of a man/woman should go back to generate more income, which is unrelated to the original source of income. It's investment that counts.Back to the topic of differentiating Asset and Liability, here's where it gets cloudy, sort of a grey area, there is a huge difference when the investment is invested in Asset and in the category of Liability.
Most sound investors look at a market, which gives higher return as Asset and that which is lower as a Liabilty, such as investing the property market seems will give better return either through Capital Appreciation or Rental Returns compared to in Automobiles, whose prices drop almost 25% the moment you drive out of the dealer.Having said that, the trick of making dollar is best defined by the phrase "Making Dollar and sense" , it is best that investment is followed by real calm judgement and common sense. The rush of gold buyers in the Geneva Cold issue is one bad one.Even in the ever increasing property prices in Malaysia, there is still a unknown risk tied with the prospect of having the bubble burst some day.It has happened in the US and also in Spain, it could happen to us anytime, but for now,it seems a much safer option. So,coming to think about it,making money is not only finding ways of earning or generating income from another source, it is also best accompanied with a man's sense of knowing, what is an Asset and Liabilty, finding the right way of investing and at the right time. All said and done, there will always be risks in life, and in investing, but hey,you cant expect big returns without big risks, right?

Just a post..

Here's a funny one, someone posted this on the net few days back, thought of sharing.

It's a quite puzzling picture,take a look>>

Why is Nicholas Cage on the cover of a 8th grade Serbian Biology book?
Hahaha, doesnt get much weirder than that.....

Calmest of resolutions.

New year brings new hope for new beginnings, another go at life. It's almost like re-starting a video game.

Unless previous years where I have not really given a go at keeping resolutions (always thought resolutions were more of a cliche and less a real thing),this year I have the deepest sense of homecoming to a new fresh life that I have to be re-born,moving past mistakes and overcoming the devil's whisper that often accompanies me in times of frustration. The feeling of being hard done, being treated wrong or just plain old rush of the moment is normal, but reacting to it,is defintely not.In the past, that has happened way too many times, and it was always easy to say it's because of the influence while growing up.While that might be true, its time to stop thinking of that and to find a way.

This coming year, from the deepest pit of my heart,I yearn to be a more calmer, more patient man,one that accepts things more the way it is,rather than reacting to it.To be more in peace with my surroundings and people, even if the surroundings is chaotic and the people are being a pain.Just keep calm Vishpal.No.matter.what.

It's been a day 3 of my resolution, and truth be told, its really really difficult. But so far,I have done well.Just 362 more days to go.They say Rome was not built in a day, same goes in overcoming our weaknesses, but we have to start somehow.I have a great family, trustable awesome friends and a beautiful, loving girl, with their trust and motivation,my resolution is going to be fulfilled.Adamant about that.
.And in 2013,Vishpal Singh is going to Keep Calm And Carry On.
