November Rain

This 1992 hit wonder by Guns N Roses was written by lead singer Axl Rose and was inspired by a short story called "Without You" written by an American writer Del James. It narrates the true life story of Axl Rose and his rocky relationship with his then girlfriend Stephanie Seymour and the music video for this movie depicts just that, the music video of November Rain won the MTV 1992 Best Music Video Award for Best Cinematography.

The beauty of this video is the narration of the video which was matched by the music the band plays, and that, in epic proportion. The song used an orchestra accompanying the intro piano interlude by Axl Rose infront of a live theathre as Stephanie Seymour walks into the chatedral in a bride's dress. The cinematography value of this scene is breathtaking, as the video goes on to portay the wedding between Axl and Stephanie.

Other iconic images that were in the music video was the image of guitar legend cum god, Slash playing his guitat shirtless infront of a church located in the middle of an empty field at New Mexico.

The guitar solo that followed took the level of the song into epic proportions as Slash delivers one of his all time greatest solo and cement his place as one of the best guitarist of his generation.

"November Rain" was voted #1 on the Rock 1000 2006, an annual countdown of the top 1,000 rock songs by New Zealand radio listeners. It was voted #2 on the Rock 1000 2007, being beaten out by "Back In Black" by AC/DC.The song was placed at #140 on Pitchfork Media's Top 200 Tracks of the 90s.
The song's solo is also ranked #6 on Guitar World's "The 100 Greatest Guitar Solos" list in 2008
